Does anyone know a fast encoder for rvmb to mpeg1? for VCD? i downloaded the AVS video converter.. it takes like 4 hours to convert the formats. the sad thing is..that when i try to burn the file with nero, it says, that it needs to be re-encoded because of a video or format complaint. i don't get that either, the AVS converter said it was converting to NTSC VCD, so why can't i burn it on Nero?

Try the "Real alternative" package and install the directshow codec.
Then you should be able to open the rmvb in tmpgenc and use the
    built in vcd template.

It isn't a codec it is a set of filters; real media splitter, by Gabest and it should come with real alt if you have that installed. Basically it is a real media splitter and wrapper for Real's decoders.

This really has nothing to do with DivX or Xvid though.

Load the rmvb, then a VCD template or just use the wizard. As I said though this really isn't the forum for VCD encoding.

No playback questions, VCD/SVCD/DVD questions, etc here!

Anyway the point is that TMPGEnc can take input via dshow and therefor with Gabest's filter and Real's decoders installed, it should be able to convert rmvb to VCD same as any other format.
