First of all apologies for going over the same problem you have answered a million times over !

Have had my eurovox 5000 for a few days and am going round in circles trying to get it going - I need a REAL idots guide.

Have tried to download Firmware but it just keeps saying searching for receiver. Could someone please give me a step by step idots guide. Also not sure what flashing is but if this needs doing first could someone please give me the same step by step account. I would be very grateful if any advice as I seriously just want to put it in the bin now. I live in Merseyside area and it TeleWest. Ta in advance.

    Thanks for that but.....

When I go through the instructions I do not appear to have the profalitic port (UBS lead came with disc to install driver - which I have done and updated numerous times); just dont seem to be getting anywhere - sorry to be a pain but I REALLY do just want to chuck it right now . Thanks for all / any advice !

    Hi

Tried it using just null cable. Downloaded UFL ex5000-v1 (1).1a.
Goes to the box and click download and it goes through com1 - 3 randomly - click start anyway and have gone through trying each com 1 - 3 and it says waiting for the response of your receiver.

If you have one you could try another rs232 cable there is also an option to connect to receiver in bootmode when you try and flash try that option and turn box off then on again as you try to connect to it sometimes works

Have you looked at your com port properties to see if the UFL is looking at the correct port?

    Hi

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at my com port properties and a blank screen comes up (com port properites - general tab). Any ideas as I cant tell you how fed up of the whole thing I am - I know it will be worth it when working but cant see it ever happening. Thanks again
