I have a Hitachi DVDCam which uses DVD-RAM or DVD-R discs. I am trying to burn all of the discs I have to one DVD to send to g-parents for x-mas. The only disc that my computer will recognize is the DVD-RAM that came with the DVDCam. HELP!! I have a years worth of video of my daughter that I can not access without the recorder. Please HELP, HELP, HELP!!!!

Do you have a firewire or usb connection between the dvdcam and the pc? If so, you may transfer the videos using that connection to the harddisk of the pc into a popular video format (e.g. avi, mpeg, wmv), then convert them into dvd compliant format, and burn to dvd.

You may consult the manual that came with the camcorder. As a matter of fact, your camcorder probably came with a software that would allow you to do this. If not, try some programs (e.g. Nero, DVDSanta) that have video capture functions.

    Good luck!
