I needed to switch my current domain name to a new web host? How would I go about doing this?

I think I would copy all files from the current website and then transfer to the new host, but how do I transfer my domain name to point to the new web host?

    thanks.

If you registered your domain with a name registration company (like Namecheap.com) then after you log in it provides options to transfer your domain. So you click on like "Transfer DNS to web host" or something, and it displays a couple text boxes which you enter the address of your web host's DNS server.

    Example...

    "ns.inmotionhosting.com"
    "ns1.inmotionhosting.com"
