@95m3 At this point I think it is more of a drive problem then your version of Nero. Even w/ the firmware update your drive doesn't fully recognize the media you are using. No media codes are listed for either the RW or +R media. Still follow of IHoe's good advice though. Try to burn ImgBurn(free) instead. This is an older drive with no support in almost 2-1/2 years. So for media look for Verbatim or made Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell with a rated speed no higher than 8x (getting harder to fine). Just my 2 cents but might just be time for a new drive that supports all the newer media. I'd also get a new ide cable. Try the suggestions 1st and let us know.
