Do they play in a stand alone DVD player?
They play in Media Player but not Power DVD hmm sounds more like a software issue than a problem with the disk, but be aware that memorex is one of the most hated brands of media around for DVD media!

slow down your burn speed and reduce your target size in dvd shrink, that might help.

    Ok,that eliminated one solution.
What movie are you trying to do?
You might wanna run a crc check with this:http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
Maybe its just one really bad disc.In the future buy taiyo yuden, verbatim, fuji, maxell or ritek.

I think Memorex is your problem. They suck! For Xmas hubbie bought me the Epson R320 along with a pack of 25 printable Memorex (he didn't know any better). I had even hinted to him that I had already ordered printable discs. The pack was pretty hit or miss. You may get a few goods ones I but to me it wasn't worth the aggravation - I trashed them. I would try and return them.

I use Memorex DVD+R 8X all the time and I never have any problems. Even cheap ones work just as well for me. End user thang.

tmog - "End user thang" Interesting, one could infer that people are not doing things properly.
There are probs with the consistency of memorex. If it works for you, fine. Just don't recommend them. You are leaving yourself wide open..........

End user thing - interesting. I've been backing up movies for about 1 year and my only play back or burn problems have been with Memerox yet with Ritek and TY's they're fine. I guess Memerox DVD's require - nah not worth it.
