i just made 9 very expensive coasters and im down to my last one so i want to get the correct facts before i waste the 10th.

i just bought a new DVD player, which plays DVD Video,DVD-R, DVD-RW (Video Format), CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD, VCD, JPEG Playback, WMA MP3 formats, MPEG-4, DivX, SD/MMC, Memory Stick, Compact Flash, XD and Smart Media.

I have a bunch of MPEGs that I want to burn, if i copy the files directly as is, can they be viewed on my DVD player? or do i have to convert them into some other format?

    thank you in advance,
    nimmy

You would have to convert the MPEGS to one of those formats
Try getting a hold of WinAVI that will convert to any of those formats for you. If your looking save space but keep good quality you should probably go with DivX
