So, i have a bunch of mkv files that I want to author to an HD-DVD. I can use ConvertxtoDVD to make a normal DVD, but i want HD. I have not found any programs that will take an mkv file and author an HD-DVD. So, i need to convert the MKV to an MPEG-2 or an AVI I would assume?? AlltoAVi I have read about, as well as Vidori for XBOX360. When you convert an mkv file to avi or mpeg-2, no matter how you do it, is there any compression being down that would degrade the quality. Also, for programs that require me to enter a bitrate, what would be good to use for HD-DVD? 8000-9000??
Well here's what I did.. 1. Open up a browser such as Firefox, IE, Mozilla, ya know..whatever floats your boat. 2. Type in google.com, this should open up a search engine (they work great) 3. Now you want to search, I suggest trying "MKV to HD DVD" for best results. 4. A long list of items should have been parsed out from your inquiry. If you look around, you should see a link that reads ".MKV .TS to HD DVD on Standard DVD's" From what I read in your previous post, I assumed that might help out. From reading the other users post, I assumed that might help out. DVDBack23 suggested the link I provided from the other questions that were very similar to yours. From what I gathered from all this, is your going to have to make an MPEG-2 file, which would be your MKV file. I think converting an MKV file to MPEG-2 will have some quality loss, not sure though. I try to help as much as I can, but I will not hold your hand for you. I dunno man, I guess you're SOL.
