if all else fails try using go back ( this should be under accessories-tools-system restore). if that fails u can always burn it clean and reload windows ( reformat using windows xp disc). i like to do this aleast once a year. pcs are very fickle. even if its the same make and model as a friends, it still may not run apps the same.

well i'm hooked up to my buddy's computer we have this 2 Wire Home Portal Monitor so if i do a restore it will probably mess with his computer, if i did do a system restore though, do you think it would help? i also found out that the box i'm trying to get come up, does. only when i place a cd in there though, a dvd, nothing, but a cd goes in and a box displays with no problems, that is funny. so what do u think? i will probably to a system restore.

restoring one computer shouldn't screw with the other, but disconnect them to be sure. then try it. that's your best bet at the moment, methinx.

Have you attempted to go Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, and checked if you had installed "interactual player", and if so, "Uninstall it" from there? Perhaps if you had installed it, that could be your problem.....just trying to help with another suggestion, since it appeared you did not know if you had installed it, or not.

    Best regards,

    Rich

I had the same thing happen to me with my first burner, a pioneer. I even went as far as to take my comp apart, blow everything out, etc. Finally just replaced the dang thing. Have you tried going into hardware manager and uninstalling/reinstalling the drive?

I have several DVD's on my hard drive (E:\). I bought a DVD-R to transfer them to. I have used DVD shrink, nero, DVD Decrypter, firestorm, and smartripper and for all they say that their is "no disc in drive". I don't know what to do. They work when i put in cd's. Can someone please help me. Thanks

Have you attempted to view them via Windows Explorer, or My Computer, to verify rather or not they really have data on them?

    Regards,

I think you need to explain this a little better, I don't think we are getting all the info here......please help us help you.

    Thanks,

    Rich

    @Chris88

Yes what you describe sounds correct regarding your dvd drive being E:

I was asking dymx if his computers hard drive, not the dvd drive was E as he indicated. Normally the computer hd is C: He indicated that he had several dvd's on his hard drive E:

I have heard that the HP DVD rw's sometime do not give the greatest service, maybe that is the problem that you are having. Do a search at this forum and see what is said about the HP dvd drives.

Sorry I could not be of more help, but I will keep trying.

Is "Chris88" and "dymx" the same person, just different Nick's, this is a little confusing? Anyway, tell us your manufacture name and model of your DVD burner, and perhaps someone can help.

    Best regards,

    Rich
