When shrink gets to the point of asking for blank it is now using nero or dvdd whatever you have it set to burn with. It has put the files on your hdd (c drive) or whatever you may want to call it.

It sounds like you may be atempting to use a disk that is not blank. If you have started to burn to the disk and it failed before, the disk is no longer blank. Make sure you are putting in a blank disk.

You might want to use rw until you get burning figured out. If it fails erase the disk before atempting again. Simply because some people have problems when try to erase then burn in same instance.

@ dkbaked; stop confusing him.He want to's see if he can actually get a burned disc first.Let him worry about all the other things after he has one successful burn.

this kind of tinkering is unimportant all its going to do is make him more fustrated.YOU will definitely get a better outcome quality wise but thats unimportant (helpme77)we just want to make sure you can burn one disc first.

after the encoding process this is the next screen:

insert your disc which will get analysed to make sure it is compatible:

once that process is done, it should start to burn to disc, starting with the writing the lead in and then proceed to burn your disc.

yes, that is what I get...not that this makes a big difference, but I am female. I think the part that confuses me the most is where to save it. Like reading, and viewing where on your tutorial it says backup....UI put the top one as My LITE ON burner, and then the 2nd one is where I get confused, I clicked on c:, then saved it in a folder I named other.

Thats fine to save it there. Shrink just needs to decode and make the files smaller so you can fit it on the dvd you are burning to. I think whompus made a great point earlier, are you trying to use a blank dvd that you tried to use before on a failed backup? Or is this a brand new blank dvd?

yes admeer, that and the one under it.....Also baked, I believe I am using a blank one, I will definately make sure, but I have had this problem for months now, ever since I have started trying to burn discs.

helpme77, what seems to be the prob.
When you open the box you have these options!

if you select the burner it will burn to a dvd disc.
if you select an iso (image file) it will create one and burn to disc
if you select folder it will burn to a folder on your hard drive.

the other one under neath just means that when the program does all the encoding etc, it require a temporay folder to store the infomation on your hard drive before it burns it to your disc. The locationis only important to you for the reason that after you burn your disc you can erase that folder.Or leave it on your hard drive and access it later to make another copy of the movie you have just done.

Well it seems to be doing ok, I am done with the encoding, and inserted a blank disc, it said burn process started at 4x(5,540KS/s) and is at 86% of writing tracks, which it has never made it this far!

    Dear HelpMe77,

You're lucky to have been in such good hands.

    @ andmerr,

Very well done, man. I never would have bothered to upload all those images.

@ scf_au ; as i was doing them at the same time i was burning the disc it was east to capture them and now have them saved to photobucket.

i'll have a chat to vcreaky when he finally gets up this morning and get him to peruse this one but with all his extra duties it might take him a while to get here.

@ dkbaked : well yopu know about deep analysis, thought you might want to lead our friend down the path of perfection as i dont use any of shrinks xtra functions.

@helpme77: at the top of the screen where it says [bold] 1A20 [/bold]
please edit this out as this a serial to yourt versiopn of nero and isnt for any one except you.Be quick before they steal it.
