I am knew to xbox modding cuz I usually do psp's and 360's. I want to know what are the best HDD's and other stuff to get so I can store roms and emulators. Like waht the harddrive does on the ps2.
You can go to Deal Detectives and sometimes they have a good deal on HDD's. I got a 200GB HDD, for 50 bucks because of them. For a chip, I would go with the Xecuter 3 CE (solderless). It's pricy, but it has helped me a whole lot, and hasn't failed me yet. With this you can get emulators, and roms for your xbox.

The list is a little old, and dosen't include the new drives. 7200rpm IDE is fine.. the xecuter 3 is pretty well top of the heap..best features etc..with many bios options. For install guides (I don't approve of solderless installs because they can cause a few problems) The adapter for the xecuter 3 is called the xapt3r and costs approx £13. They are very useful however if you repair a lot of boxes.
