I have had the exact same problem. I purchased an ATI PowerColor Radeon 9550 256MB 128bit AGP8X video card and installed it in my mob which is the same thing, Elitegroup K7VTA3 v8.0. My moniter is blank. I have a Dell 17" Flat Panel Monitor. I emailed ECS Tech Support and they came back and said, "Yes, the K7VTA3 v8.0 supports 8X AGP video card. Base on recent testing results, the ATI Radeon 9550 256MB DDR 128 bit AGP8X Video is incompatible with the K7VTA3 because of timing issue." I am not really up on computers but have a friend trying to help me. The PCI Video card works fine. I'm just trying to upgrade and am about to get an ulcer over it. I don't understand the "timing issue". Anybody know what that means? My specs are:
    ECS K7VTA3 v8.0
    758MB RAM
    40BG HARDRIVE
    DVD-ROM SONY DRIVE
    DVD SONY 530U DVD BURNER
    SOUNDBLASTER 2Z PLATINUM SOUND CARD
    450 WATT POWER SUPPLY

Heres how i solved the problem":

I put brackets underneath the mobo to prevent it from shorting (becuase if the mobo touches anything metal, it shorts) and it worked perfectly.

Ofcourse, if u have already turned the computer on and havent put brackets underneath the mobo, then your mobo has most likely been fried from the bottom and wont work anymore.
