i bought a new Null Modem cable today, but when i try to download the frimware it still doesnt move off 0%.... its hardly the laptop is it? Ive had this box 1 month now and still cant get it working so any help is great.. cheers pal.

 

Hi dan, only here for a minute or so but will be back later, so lets clear a few things up. You are going direct from your laptop with the NULL MODEM lead and not an adaptor, and you are trying to download Ver. 7.09 to the box, this correct.

Edit :- will be back on later this evening, so for now just make sure that the NULL MODEM lead is fitting securely at PC and The Box, when you try flashing just give connection a push at the box.

 

Dan reading between the lines of your posts, would I be correct in assuming you have Vista on your laptop?
If so there seems to be issues with this system and you will need a STB adaptor as well!

 

Good evening Des, he has flashed a box the other night with the same PC, unfortunately he had the wrong box, it turned it was a box T.

Ye connection is in nice and tight, directly from laptop to box, just using null modem cable no adaptor.. no using windows xp? ive tried using all the virsions from 6 up to 8 and everytime it just says flash failed!!

Can u define the loader? is that like the version?

The loader is the GTRom super 7.05 etc, yes it is the all in one loader that you use to flash the box, the one that is staying at 0%, it shows your COMM port and Baud Rate, what does it say in there.

Im living in Galway,Ireland and have the Box Super.API vers 7.08e Boot ver 8.0. I have 189 channels but 180 of them are scrambled. I've tried Menu 1570 but nothing comes up (just get the menu screen). Ive tried the parental lock way too but nothing. Ive tried the factory settings but it wont accept 0000 as password.I've seen threads about flashing but don't know how to go about this.
Could anyone talk me thru it over phone. Sorry for sounding thick.
Can anyone help.

 

That firmware is only FTA, and won't let you access secret menu or anything else, the box needs to be flashed with latest firmware go to here and follow instructions, you will need the 7.09eE >>>
