    Hi All
I've just upgrade my system but now when I convert my avi's to DVD, they pixelate now and then while playing back on my standalone. This does not happen if I play them through my PC. Before the upgrade I had no problems, I don't know whats doing it, my system is
    AMD 5200+
    2gig Ram
    Geforce 7600GT 256MB
    S4 Gigabyte m/board
    300gig sata HD
    300gig ide HD
    Windows XP SP2
    Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 108
    Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 111D

I have used Nero & VSO DivxtoDVD to convert with the same results and I'm using LG X16 DVD-R media, can someone help me.

Pixelation is usually the result of poor media and/or burning too fast.

Recommend Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim for blank media. What speed did you burn at? Should burn at half the rated speed of the media. If you are using 16x media, burn at no more than 8x.

While you are at it, check for any firmware updates on your burner(s).

I've tried all speeds down to X4 with the same result. I have noticed that there is a firmware update for the 108 and the 111D is up to date, but the thing is that it's doing it regradeless of which burner I'm using. I'll try new media as you recommended as I did try Ritek but with the same result. Thanks in advance for any help and I'll let you know if the media fixs it.

I got the media, Taiyo Yuden but had the same result, could it be the burning software I'm using Nero 7 reloaded?, I'm at a total lose to what's causing it.

Got me puzzled at this point, too. If you can find the Nero Log from your last burn, post it here. It will have details that some aD members are really Good at figuring out. I am not that well versed on Nero, not even sure where to find the log, but others should be able to help. Good luck.

Could you recommend another burning program to try?

Hopefully someone well versed in these logs will offer some help.

To answer you question just before the log - have you considered ImgBurn?
