This is a continuation of another thread. I wanted to throw this out there one more time before I give up and take my computer to a computer store to get it worked on. This thread was orinally started as an "Write DVD 10 11 W2" error report here:

    Hmmmm. What to do next?
I'm not only having problems with dvds, but cds as well now.
I turned on Itunes yesterday and got this message:
"Warning. The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning cds and dvds are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other cd burning software. Please reinstall Itunes."

I can import music into itunes but I can't burn cds!
When I try to burn I get the message, "Disc Recording Not Found."

There is allot of stuff in my itunes that I would like to not loose by reinstalling itunes. Any way to move all of it beforehand? Do you think re-installing itunes is really going to help my situation anyway???

If anybody can give me any more ideas before I start spending money, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

the computer store is pretty expensive. try moving music files to another file. if that works then put them on a flash drive if u have one. there pretty cheap these days. after that transfer to another pc, do this as many times as it takes to get the music saved. if ur main goal is to save the music then this should work. after that then reformatt. if u dont have the windows xp disc then cotact ur tech support and they should be able to get it for u . ive never known anybody to get out of a computer repair shop for under $200.00 , most of the time its more.

I went to BestBuy yesterday and I was told they would do a diagnostics test for $60.00. If there was something wrong, it would have to be shipped to another state, service center. I didn't get into details with them.. But I'm thinking , if I got them to put a new DVD/CD burner in, it would come with all the right software and It would be working again. I also would like a second hard drive put in my computer. Does this sound like a good solution. BestBuy could put the drives in, in-store. What do you think...?
