I have been trying to make an avchd for playing on the ps3 from my orginial bluray. The video plays fine, but not audio. My receiver shows up DD 5.1 but nothing comes out. Same thing on computer. When I demux audio from video, audio will play fine in powerDVD. Here is the process I am using. AnyDVD to rip, tsmuxeR to extract hi def audio and video, then use nero vision to encode to avchd. Everything seem fine, profile 4.1 video output 1080i and audio AC3 448 kbs. The only thing I can find is that most guides say to use regular DD and not true HD. Is this my problem or am I missing something else all together. Thanks for your help.

If you are trying to use TrueHD in a AVCHD disc it will not work... at least to the best of my knowledge the only audio formats that will work is AC3, DTS core, and any form of PCM.

If you want quality encodes you should consider giving MeGUI/AviSynth a shot. You can read through this thread, it's Ryu77's and there's a lot of good info.

BTW, I know you asked Ryu, but sometimes it's hard to get a hold of him.

Thanks for your help Mr. 24 I will look into all of the above. I think trying to use to true hd might have been my problem. Again thanks for your help.

LOL, that's the first time someone has called me Mr. on this forum. If all you need to do is convert your TrueHD track to AC3 use eac3to with eac3toGUI. If you have the source TrueHD track use that one.
