I've even had my colleagues cheat the voting system with proxies, and had them give bad ratings to the other guys. Doesn't seem to be having the effect i expected just yet...
I won't have them vote against the other guys, because it still counts as a vote. We just need tons of votes for LoNero and none for or against the other bands. At least, thats the way I see it. Peace, Pop Smith
Hmmm. As far as i can tell, voting also counts in the rating you give the artist, and if the artist gets tons of 10's and gets the highest scores, he/she wins... So voting top scores on Bill and rating the other guys/gals down the drain... Well, i take it you get the picture.
You know, i checked the entire site... and it doesn't state how it works... Pretty lame, that. I hate it when i can't prove wether i'm right (or wrong)
actual vote count is what is beating us at the moment, and voting down the other guys would bring their vote count higher. plus i dont think Bill would want to win it like that, thats what they were doing to him at first. Dont forget how many votes that other band has too, if they started voting Bill down we'd be screwed. Lets just keep it with voting 10's on Bill as much as possible and we'll smoke those other guys fair and square (well the proxies dont count). I'd rather look back and think Bill won this thing because he earned it, not because we trashed the others guys. Honest music, might as well be honest voting (again, not counting proxies haha).
Thanks guys! See the other band called "next door" were and I think still are voting "1" for us. They aren't as busy doing it as they were but they were definitely doing it. I saw a post on their myspace page from another band asking them to stop voting "1" for them as well. They have a lot of votes but their rating is lower then ours. From what I read on the Get The Do It website the winner will be judged by how many votes combined with their rating. Again I want to thank all of you for voting and showing your support. AfterDawn has always been good to us and a place where it's members can see through all the corporate cannon fodder that is clogging our radio. Hopefully with your support we can show them that you can play honest music and not conform and still get a good following of REAL MUSIC LOVERS!!!!!
lonero, i voted a couple times great music man . who were your influences? Joe Satriani maybe? and where can we get your material here are some of the bands that move me Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Deep Purple UFO Iron Maiden Saxon Tool Dream Theater and can you post a tour schedule
Thanks man! I really appreciate it!!!! As for influences actually I don't consider Joe an influence at all. Aside from the fact that we both play instrumental rock that's about it. My biggest influence is AC/DC and Angus Young. To me Angus gets "it". He knows it's about the song before it's about showing off his chops. All the great guitarists that have influenced me have put songs before auditory masturbation. Guys like Angus, Joe Perry, Jeff Beck. They know how to write a good song. Brian Johnson of AC/DC said it best "At the end of the day people just want to go home, listen to some good rock and roll and get laid". Give me one Angus or Jeff Beck over 500 Yngwie Malmsteens any day of the week!!! I have my first cd "Slather" that I sell on my website at www.TheNewAlbum.com but that will soon have the new cd "Relentless" for sale on it as well. Hope everyone has a kick ass week!!! Bill
Angus was probably one the most underrated guitarist ever AC/DC = working class Rock and Roll thats why the critic's didn't get it. what bands do you like listening too? cool i will get the album. 10.00 bucks is great found your album on e-bay also lol http://cgi.ebay.com/Lonero-Bill-Sla...goryZ307QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem and great to see you post in here Bill
just ordered the album!!! 9.99 guys no shipping or tax great deal right Bill!! i will post my reveiw soon
aabbccdd - when Bill tours you'll have to go with me to the show. totally agree in angus and ac/dc, the working mans rock n roll. I think at some point you would be kicked out of belmont if you didn't cruise around in your monte carlo jamming for those about to rock on 11. They banish you to irondale and make you liste nto scorpions hahaha (only residents of our town would get that) bill - can you believe this aabbccdd cat lives in my town? aint that a trip! pretty weird 2 people from a little podunk town in Indiana end up on the same forum based in Finland. there's another fellow here by the name of catfreak that is also from our town, freakin weird.
Count me in too! I want to go! That is pretty weird though that you guys live in the same damn town. I live in San Jose with a population of just over 1,000,000 and I rarely ever come across people in forums from San Jose (maybe they just don't want me to know). Thanks for buying the cd too! Slather isn't as heavy as the new cd and it is alot more diverse style wise. But hopefully you'll enjoy it.
Bill, I take it that Loose and Relentless are tracks from the new album, yeah? I'll be sure to look out for it. Are they (the CDs) out in the UK? It will be great to hear some heavier stuff on the new one, as I like heavier/more intense guitar playing, but can't stand the screaming that tends to come with heavy metal music. Lol, I have a funny feeling you may just be there :O
No cd's in store yet. I've been selling everything online. Which hasn't been to bad. I want to tour over in the U.K. but trying to find a booking agent that books over there is tough. I agree with you on the screaming factor. That really turns me off then I turn off the stereo.
Ah Ok. I'll have to get the Cd off the net then, all the way from the U.S of A! A UK tour would be great, seeing as I live there, Lol! If you ever fin a booking agent, I'll be sure to come! :-D
