   Hi, I need some help. I am trying to cut a track off a CD to make a shorter track on a whole new one. The help section says that to cut tracks, go to the Edit Audio File option from the track menu. I go there, but all it has is play, preview, extract to file, merge tracks, split tracks, and info. What am I doing wrong? Could someone please help?

   Audacity is a free wave editor that can be used for splitting/cutting audio files.
