help with converting AVI files to MPEG

I am trying to burn some videos i have in avi format onto a DVD using Ulead DVD Movie Factory. When i click on the add video and select the avi video it says it is not accessible. All the MPEG's that i have burned have worked fine. So basically what i am asking as does anyone know what programs you can use to convert Avi to MPeg? Thanks

 

nevermind, it has nothing to do with what kind of format it is.....it says that it contains no video data.......can anyone help me with that?

Try using Tmpgenc, also use this guide.
