It seems that there are several people trying to backup Flight Plan, If you want to solve ALL and I mean ALL of your backup problems read this post! Newer DVDs especially Sony titles are giving DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter troubles. DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter were great at one time just as DVD X COPY was. Now is the time to upgrade. You need AnyDVD and DVDClone2. You can get them at www.slysoft.com. You can try the software for free for 21 days but then you will need to pay for the two. It will cost you $59.00 and I promise you that it will be worth it. They give free lifetime updates. No more questions, no more posts, no more delays. Please do not go to Limewire or Bearshare and try to get a hacked version. The hacked versions are not the latest versions and will not work properly. I know because I tried them. There are too many of us who are so cheap. This software is worth paying for. So if you want The Fog, Flight Plan, Madagascar, or The Cave then you need the current version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. Once you have these on your machine you should have no problem backing up most any movie. Just go to www.slysoft.com and download AnyDVD and CloneDVD. That will solve ALL of your backup problems.

make sure you have downloaded nero 7 that helps a whole lot. If you can't open your file by going into shrink and clicking on open file, then open my computer and click on your movie file, click on open with... shrink and see if that works. (going in the back door so to speak) Make sure you have down loaded the newest free version of nero. Try that
Hi Guys!!! This seems to be the problem page and though i have done this for years without really needing help,my turn has come...I currently can back up a DVD in 45 min using DVD Decrypter the Dvd Shrink after its on the hard drive and burning it with Decrypter again with AnyDvd running background works PERFECTLY. i ALWAYS close off my Norton Antivirus/Firewall and unplug from the internet. Recently DVD Fab was given to me to try and backing up Flightplan it froze-up like a stone 1/3 of the way through the read so i cancelled it and went back to my BEST way of backing up my movie EXCEPT now when i open DVD Shrink on the VTS file it says Overlapping I/O in progress...so i uninstalled and deleted DVD Fab then when that didnt fix the problem! I uninstalled DVD Shrink which took care of the overlapping I/O problem, but it still reads it cannot find the 1st VOB file-ANYONE else had a problem with DVD Fab--im starting to think the I/O overlapping issue has something to do with the fact i still have XCopy Platinum on my system and DVD fab and X Copy both have patin-couffin driver--basically i just want to reset my system as was before DVD Fab. Any Ideas???
Your best bet would be to back up the files that you need and then format your hard drive and put a fresh version of WinXP on it. Then go back to afterdawn and install the software that you want. I do this on my computer every 4-5 months and it really helps. Good luck.
Every once in a while my systems acts up. Usually because I have picked up something or what ever or however I have corrupted the files. Then I go nuts! So I have to uninstall everything pertaining to DVD copying. Everything old and everything new everything. Then start all over again reinstalling only the programs I like the best. Some things are just don't play well together. Do you use Nero too? I always have nero installed it works behind the scenes and I never really mess with it but it makes my everything work great. I know I'm not much help but that's what I do when things run-a-muck.
msnevbill, NO...do not uninstall anything. This is what you should do: 1) Make sure you have your factory disc or your Windows XP disc with serial number. 2) Back up all of your pictures, favorites, email addresses, music, etc. 3) Make a list of the software that you have installed on your computer so you know what to put back on. 4) Insert your WinXP Disc or Factory CD inside your CD drive and restart your computer. 5) You then need to install a fresh copy of Windows XP and delete the current partition then install windows on the new C: 6) Once you have your computer back up and running then you will need to install the software that you want back onto your computer. By doing this, you will have that "New Computer" feel. I do this to my computer at least twice a year. It runs faster and I have less problems. If you would like to call me you can. I help lots of people with their computers every day. To obtain my cell number, please email me at chris@dvdsupport.com. Thanks and good luck.
I use dvdfab as well and have never had a problem. Flightplan was never a problem. Great movie btw. Anywho, The overlapping I/O is not a problem with the software, rather an issue that can be corrected with post work like VOBblanker. However, make sure you have the latest release of dvdfab because (i think) the encryption algorhythms might be locking it up on an older version. Just a thought. Happy Burning.
