    hi all

i read a tutorial on how to burn movies using DVD shrink.

well first the program is just analysing the disk and half way through this message pops up.

    --
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Failed to read file "E:\"

    Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
    --

the program has been able to burn other DVDs so i dont think its my burner.

please help me if you can.

    thanks alot guys

A CRC means there's a bit of information on the disc that the drive can't read due to any number of things to do with the disc such as fingerprints, scratches or a bit of corrupt data from the factory.

Just to elaborate, I have had the same issue.

Try cleaning the disk. Just wiping it with a clean cloth can work wonders. It has for me.

I received the same error on an OLD DVD that was pretty scratched up. I tried a newer copy of the same DVD and it worked fine.
