ok i may stand corrected but what i would do is wipe the loader and firmware, then download it again then try again making sure the box is in standby if you are using just the null modem via the serial port it should pick up the box straight away

Hi, I am having the same problem, I have a starview 1 original and when I view the GTROM loader the model number is blank, I typed in GCR 3510 as displayed on the starview instructions but it reads 'Model name does not crrect'.

Can anyone help with the problem? - Celtic has been but I think he has signed off for the evening, I can't get the starview box to accept the new firmware from the GTROM loader as it does not recognise the stb model number, I have used REGEDIT to set the parameter to GCR 3510 but it still reads Error on Model.

thanks Karl, I have tried it on both of my home computers and laptop and it is having the same problem, I have a starview clone and that updated fine, but this one just does not accept the stb model! - I'm racking my brains as I've been trying fixes since 2pm!!!

Can you get a hold of another box of a mate and simply transfer the data from his onto your one?

    try this: ,

when u want transfer box to box, master box [the good one ]is hooked up normally to tv with null modem lead connected and is connected into crap box [ to u slave box ]switch on crap box and have it facing away from u as not to pick up remote signal,go to good box user setup and s/w transfer highlighted u have 2 options codes first and press ok transfer begins 1-100 then reboots on both boxes [check ]sometimes do not come on off/on if needed, second channel data highlighted ok transfer begins and finishes box reboots end of lesson!

hi, whilst i've posted to another link i've had this problem as well, in my case it was the .bin file i selected, once i had the right one it went though ok. However when i tried to load a channel file i got the stb invalid message. Still got problems, if theres a more difficult solution i'll have a go. Thanks for your help so far.
