I used DVD Decrypter with DVD43 running in background. Then use DVD Shrink to create ISO image. Burn image with DVD Decrypter.

I'm sick and tired of all these DVDs from Sony Home Video having all these problems with the public, like you, not being able to burn a copy. You have Forgotten, Resident Evil 2, Are We There Yet? and now Hitch. What's next???

I have read all the threads and tried all the programs and Hitch still wont burn.

it wont even run on my computer. what i mean by that is when i hit play movie on the root menue it does the window to the black screen, then the movie is supposed to start, but it gets stuck at the black window. it will work fine if i do scene select and go to the first scene. this occure on both my dvdplayer and dvdburner using PowerDVD to run it.

I have tried the following. Dvdshrink 3.2, Newest version of anydvd and dvd clone2, dvdx copy platinum, dvdxRescure, #1 dvd ripper. Nero. They all have an error between 12-20%.

    Im stuck from here

    OK!

for every1 who had the DVD Shrink error at 13%, tried DVD Decryptor and VOB Blanker and still had errors, repeated attempts in diffrent DVD Drives ... heres what i did to successfully back up hitch

i got that DVD Fab Decryptor that some1 posted earlier (thanks alot BTW) , ripped to my hard drive then i used clone dvd to compress and burn (dvd shrink still gave an error).

    that is all

for some reason and for some people even after decrypter rips this movie to the HD some programs still get errors. i believe some programs have more powerful ripping capabilities than others, take for example intervideo copy 3, it did such a great jod on this movie from the hard drive, no erros,30 minutes process. i try other programs and they did not do as well. i would try IC3, 1click dvd(this one did a good job) and even a dvdxcopy program (they are good rippers).

I seem to be having a different problem with Hitch.

I decrypted w/ DVD Decrypter and then used DVD Shrink to only get the movie itself, then burned the ISO with Nero.

The problem is that I get NO sound when I play the burned disc in my Playstation 2!

It works fine in my home DVD player (Panasonic RV-31) though and my computer as well.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Should I try a different decryption program?

    Thanks for the help!

==dsa1 -> sounds like a problem with your source disc.

I would have thought the same thing, if it wernt scratch free, and worked in every dvd player perfectly in my house

Had to use DVD Decrypter 2x to get a readable ISO, but it worked eventually and seems to be burning okay with Shrink.

Did you guys notice that Decrypter is no longer being updated? Sucks.

    Howdy all.

I, like many here, cannot get the combo of DVDDecryptor and DVDShrink to play nice. I successfully Decrypted HITCH to my harddrive, both as an ISO, and again in file format.

When I attempt to open the ISO in DVD Shrink, the error I get is "Invalid IFO Filename".

When I try to open the VTS_01_0.IFO or the VIDEO_TS.IFO files, they launch okay, but after 5 seconds, I receive this error: "invalid nv_pck: nv_vobu_ea"

Any suggestions both welcome and appreciated.

@mikearama - for the files created in file mode, try vobblanker (free)

@everyone else - can't answer the other 400 posts re Hitch, there's far too much going on here, i think some of you guys need to look thry ALL the replies and try a few things out. This film really is no big deal, dvd decrypter latest (3.5.4.0) should be sufficient all on it's lonesome

    Some suggestions:
    1. Defragment your harddrive if you have not done so recently or when you check the level of defragmentation Windows says "You should defragment this drive." Ripping (and especially DVD disc burning) are resource-intensive processes and timing is critical. Fragmented harddrives can cause all kinds of problems.
    2. Do a full virus/trojan/worm/adware scan. Some viruses and adware especially can degrade the performance of your operating system so much that ripping and burning processes won't work right. Use an effective set of antivirus programs like McAfee Stinger, Ad Aware, Trojan Hunter, etc.
    3. Make sure your system ASPI layer is intact. If you have the Nero InfoTool (available with Nero Burning ROM), run the InfoTool and click the ASPI tab. If all is OK you will see in green a notification that "ASPI is installed and working properly." Otherwise a warning in red will inform you that the ASPI is either not installed or is corrupted. If it is messed up download an appropriate one from Adaptec.com

After successfully completing the above 3 steps proceed to step 4.

    4. Restart your computer. It is always a good idea to do this before initiating a rip&burn session as this clears out your RAM memory. Sometimes ripping/burning programs are very "leaky", i.e., they leave parts of their code stored in RAM even after the programs are closed or have finished a previous burn session.
    5. Rip the movie with DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0. and set the Destination as a folder you create and name on your harddrive (preferably on a second--as opposed to your C drive--harddrive if you have one.) Rip the movie in File mode (not IFO or ISO). Go to Decrypter's menu and select Mode\File to be sure. When DVD Decrypter finishes ripping, close DVD Decrypter and open DVD Shrink. Click the Open Files icon shortcut in DVD Shrink. The "Browse for Folder" dialog box opens. Select (highlight!) the folder you created/named/saved the DVD Decrypter output into. Don't individually select any other files inside that folder (in other words don't double click to get into the folder). Click OK to open the entire folder. DVD Shrink will automatically select the appropriate files.
    6. Click the Backup! button. Make sure you have specified the folder that DVD Shrink is to use to place the temporary files. Set any other settings (i.e. Target Device, DVD Region, Quality Settings, Options and Burn Settings from their respective tabs.) At minimum, you should ensure that there is a checkmark in the "Burn at least 30mm (DVD+R/RW high compatibility mode)" setting on the Burn Settings tab.
    7. While at the Burn Settings tab, consider setting the Burn speed to something less than maximum. A safe rule of thumb is burn at 50% of the discs certified maximum. So for a disc rated at 8X try a setting of 4X. Why? Not all discs are created equal. Top quality media use dyes that will lay down a fairly accurate pit track, while some other dyes burn pits slopppily (a zigzag pattern), especially as burn speed increases. Discs don't burn at their rated speed for the entire process. For example, an 8X disc won't spin at that speed (and transfer approximately 11,000KB/s) until the last 300 megabytes or so of the disc. This is why cheap media have most of its playback errors at the end (toward the outer edge) of the disc. Cheap media often can't write at its rated speed for that last 300 or so megabytes.
    8. If you use Nero to burn, use Nero's "DVD-Video Files" mode (not Disc Image mode). With Nero Express 6, for example, click DVD-Video Files. You will be given Audio_TS and Video_TS folders to add. Double click the red Video_TS folder. Then click the Add button. Nero's "Select Files and Folders" dialog box opens. Browse for the folder that you saved DVD Shrink's temp files into. Double click that folder to open it. You will see various DVD files, such as "BUP" (Backup), "IFO" (Information), and "VOB" (Video Object). Highlight each and every one of these files. Now click the Add button. Then click Finished. Then click Next. Adjust the Writing Speed as discussed in Step 7 above. Click Burn.
    9. If you continue having problems after all this, try changing your disc media. I have not had any problems backing up Sony/Columbia movies that now employ the Sony ARCooS protection scheme using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and DVD Shrink, and I retain all the menus, bonus material, etc. Let me know if I can help further.

Hitch gave me no problems what so ever, it was so simple I could not understand what all the fuss was about - HOWEVER - after I tried the disk on a neighbors DVD Burner, I discovered that SOME of the drives out there have trouble reading the disk. His is a Ben-Q and it comes up with errors reading the Factory Original. My other nighbor has a Lite-On Model (?) and Hers has trouble as well. My TEAC also had difficulity but it did finally read the disk (error free) to the HD on the second try.

Only my NEC drives (3520's and 2510's) read the Factory Disk with no errors - each and every time.

Just thought I would pass that along. It might be that some of you have DVD Burners that just flat will NOT read the disk no matter what you try.

I closed Anydvd and used DVD decrypter to rip it to my HD. I then used the ripper free version of DVDxcopy Platinum with the browser function. I clicked on the advanced button then browsed to the Hitch folder on my C: drive and clicked on the video_ts folder. I then checked all the title sets and lowered the compression rate to 38% on the main movie (title set 1). It burned great!
