ok I've been having problem on and off for awhile now...I don't believe it is the my disk (Sony) cause I had end up backing them up on someone else computer and the disk worked fine...My DVD buner will read the disk fine and run it through fab and shrink but when it goes to burn. it will mess up in the beginnging writing the lead in...Last year I had a problem with it burning the lead out at 99% but updated the firmware and that fixed that problem. Now I have this new one and Firmware is all updated ect....Thanks

Quick question (because you mentioned DVDShrink): have you enabled burning with Nero in DVDShrink? If so... disable it because that might be your problem.

Make sure in Preferences, the following circled box is unchecked:

There's some bug that exists between the two apps if that item is checked, but I don't know or understand anything else about it.

Also, if 6X is your fastest burning speed, if you can, try a slower one.

Finally, you might want to look into checking the Sony site to see if there are any firmware updates for your burner; the firmware is basically the 'brain' for the burner...and it is separate from the device drivers, which serve to enable communication between the device and your computer's OS (which you might want to look into updating as well, if either are available).

Ok this is what I'v done now..I unstalled my nero that came with my buner cause for some reason after it runs through shrink now it will not kick on to burn with nero...I went back and checked Enable to burn with nero..and that didn't help..So i reinstalled nero again and it did the samething....now its telling me my files were backed up an ready to burn with proper burning software...I tell u this is all about to drive me crazy...lol
