help with networking

    i can't get my xbox to network with my computer, i've only got a dial up, for internect, i'm using a crossover cable, direct, ihave both the evolution x and flash fxp installed, still can't get them to see each other, when i try to connect it says the following:
    R] Connecting to xbox -> IP=192.168.1.1 PORT=21
    [R] Connected to xbox
    [R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
    [R] Delaying for 20 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
    any help would be appreciated, thanks

    hi
    try these settings
    PC= ip 192.168.0.3
    default gateway 255.255.255.0
    XBOX= 192.168.0.1
    flash fxp = 192.168.0.1
    user xbox
    pass xbox
    when you connect, switch on your pc first, close ,or make sure you have it configured to "allow" the connection, any firewalls.
    when pc boots
    switch on the xbox (make sure you have gone to "save and exit" on your evox settings.)
