Help with Starview box please - you were all there once!!

Just 4 you guy who didn't believe or have faith there is now a fix. I have repaired these boxes and update them to firmware 4 and are working perfectly. So just to recap THese are original boxes and there is nothing wrong with the tuner. Its a knacked cap on the psu fix as follows. No credit to me at all found this on another site and it works perfectly.

My apologies for the language, it just that I’m a bit excited that there a fix. Especially after expert like yourself were convinced there wasn’t.

Hi Al. I used the fix for my Sv with "0" display.

Desoldered and temporarily removed Capacitor C21, powered on unit - "On" displayed, powered off unit, removed faulty Capacitor C11 and replaced with new, Resoldered Capacitor C21 back into position. Powered up Sv and rescanned.

Everything works beautifully again. Thanks again for your help.

hey guys just tried to flash a starview. turned it on and the lights flash accross the screen on the fourth light it stays on. i cant flash it or get any thin up on ther tv screen any ideas??

and what provider have you got ?

Press Menu > Installation > Choose Provider > Manual Scan

"Down Freq" type in the following 395.000

Click OK

New channels found will be at the bottom of your list

as far as i remember yes you should get the fight on the sly PPV channel unless its changed...normally on the day of the event as its normally blank.
