HI, I have 2 hard drives, one is small and almost full. I have a other one installed and it's much larger, I want to transfer everything plus windows from the small drive to the larger one. Does anyone know what program I should use to do that??? Thanks for your help... Victoria

This site link below specialises in disk imaging if you strike trouble, also note you can clone a larger hdd to a smaller one so long as the data does'nt exceed the smaller hdd's capacity,it's basicly the same as ghosting to a largrer hdd but in reverse and it automatically percentages the partitions accordingly, you'll also find norton partition magic 8.0 an invaluable tool (and you can quote me on that) *winks*

HI, okay I tried out, Migration Easy and it cloned the hard drive but I didn't select the manual way to run the program so it didn't clear off the data from the smaller hard drive after it cloned it. Is there anyway for me to clear off all the data? Help! Victoria

When transferring files or imaging a complete disk from one hdd to another (regardless if hdd's are on the one comp or not)the primary hdd that the data originated from stays intact,to remove data and partitions it is necessary to use admin tools in the program list to delete partitions, but before deleting anything you have to make sure the 2nd hdd is bootable and therefore have to set it up as master and boot it to check image integrity

Right first off there's no need to delete the OS off the smaller hdd,all you need do is srtip it of any software you never use and any saved data, the best way is to reformatt and start a fresh but this time keep installed software to a minimum,so don't install microsft works etc,the reason i say this is you will have a backup of your system in case the larger hdd bites the dust,it's very easy to include a line in the boot.ini file to dual boot so as to update the smaller hdd on occasions, for normal data saving it would be best to invest in an external usb hdd or an external usb housing and an hdd to make your own custom external hdd you can even utilise DVD-RW discs or DVD-RAM,i use external USB hdd's,DVD-RW & DVD-RAM,as well as the two internal hdd's that have partitions for data
