    how do i burn a 3 hour movie on to a 2 hour dvd-r?
    compession settings or something, i use dvd shrink and nero if that helps

    Use DVD Shrink to 'backup' your original and make sure the file size of the backup is under 4.7GB (actually less than 4.7). You can see this at the upper right corner of the status bar in DVD Shrink (make sure it's GREEN).

    Quality will somewhat decreases thought.

    Then burn with Nero.

    Do a search on DVD Shrink guide and it will walk you thru.

    Open shrink, go to file, go to properties, find "disc target size", select custom and in the box type in 4300, now use Shrink and your movie will fit on the disc and not be to close to the outside edges of the disc. You will not have to change this setting again it will stay set at 4300mb
