    Hey there frogman04,

Back to the forum with you - You want DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter that will enable you to copy your DVD's, movies etc.

Your only purchase would be a DVD burner if you don't already have one.

There are guides all over to get you started - with all of your reading it's almost impossible for you to have missed it.

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Hi frogman04, Welcome to AD,
First thing you need is a dvd burner drive. There are single layer burners and dual layer burners. Dual layer blank media is expensive at this time but will come down in price. So I would still look at the dual layer burners. They still work with single layer blanks too.
Next download DVDSHRINK and DECRYPTER (both free). You need these for making dvd copies. You might also think about buying a program like Nero 6 ultra (30 trial dowload to see if you like it). Nero is a complete burning package with many features and can burn data discs too.
Guides for using Shrink, Decrypter, and Nero can all be found by clicking the guide tab at the top of the page. The downloads are off the software tab. This will get you going in the right direction for starters.

I suggest Nero Ultra6 for backing up pictures and movies, and ConeDVD2, AnyDVD, for backing up your personal dvd collection. After you master these programs then you can download more elaborate programs but I would start with these first.

    No worries about interrupting -

    As our friend has mentioned,

There's not too much you can tell someone who's read all the posts here at aD - I just gave him the stuff he undoubtedly knew all about, feel free to expound :)
