help!!!!

    Ok i have a hp 300i 4x dvd writer in burns perfect to 4x maxwel but when i put in a 8x memorex it only burns about 20 min of video it burns at 4x witch is the max speed of burner
    I bout a 30 pack and only 1 burned the whole way

    i thought it was my burner but ........
    i tried a old sony dvdrw 2.4x i erased it and burnt a movie it worked like a charm so memorex sucks ass... waste of money

    not sure what is wrong some one please help system specs are

    ok memorex sucks but what about maxwell need real help!! wasted like 50 dvdr try to fix this issue difrent brand names still burns weird little lines on back of dvd used to work fine neend to know if its my burner but if it is why does the sony dvdrw erase and rewrite but no other brand works write i get no errors burning they always finsh but when you try to play it back on firt 20 min or so play not burning all the way?????

    Well your original post stated that the maxwells worked fine
    At least thats how I understood it?
    So my bad if I misunderstood that..
    Anyway if it was burning perfect before and now all of a sudden it doesn't, and you haven't changed a thing then it could be your writer is going bad. Have you tried updating the firmware for that drive?

    Have you checked on a firmware update for your drive? Also cheap/poor quality media will never burn right at 8X. The cheap stuff needs burned as slow as possible and it will still be a guess as to how many will work. Most members suggest 4x as the max for a dvd movie burn. Some get away with 8x or higher but the blanks have to be the best grade.

    maxwell used to work have over 150 movies backed up max speed 4x

    but now all that works is sony dvdrw at 2.4x

    maxwell and or memorex burn all the way atleast thats what the software says

    but when you turn it over it has lines like a vynal record only play for 20 min or so before they lock up
