hey i am having some trouble. i have a disk intercepter that reads floppys and its really old but i can still be put to good use. i have some files on the computer that are to big and dont fit on a floppy. any suggestion. i wanted to split them into 2 but i dont know how. also i was thinking that i could unformat a disk so that is would have 2mb instead of 1.44mb so i could fit it but thats not working. well can you help me

    thanks

You can use the File Splitter a FREE software that in the old days we had to split programs to put on 1.44 floppies !!

    It's here still and free : - http://www.dekabyte.com/filesplitter/

Takes any files... splits it in as many 1.44 floppies thats needed.. you feed the floppies in and you ended up with the file stored on X numbers... ! To reconstruct you load all floppies in a folder and click the reconstruction engine in the last one.

    Enjoy!

The original version of Windows 3 and Windows 95' that i still have but of course no longer use, came on a series of 27 floppies that you had to feed one by one to install the O/S on PC in the early 90' -- There is also a floppie expander that makes it hold a bit more then 2.2 by formatting a concentrated imprint ! However this caused a few loss of data on some PC so people went for the file splitter !

    Regards..

well thanks. well can you tell me how to farmat it so that is hold more becuase i tryed your idea about splitting it but it changes the file format so that the intercepter cant read it. i am trying to change the format but to no prevail. if you could tell me that would be great but if you can i will keep on trying to change the format

To format so it will hold more data.. you need another program... that you may find online yet -- It was not very popular but if you try in Google , you may find it on some websites .. the words would be "floppy 1.44 to 2.2 format" -- I have doubts your interceptor would be able to cope with this !

Good luck , my friend, maybe someone in here may have another solution for you !
