    which directory are you putting the patch in? the one with the mds/mdf file or the installed directory in C:\Program Files etc?
    Anyway use Daemon Tools to mount thos mds/mdf files onto a virtual drive and your PC should be tricked into thinking it's the actual disk, if it is the PC Game you are talkng about.
