    Please click "reply" to this post, then open your file c:\boot.ini in Notepad, then copy and paste the whole file text into your reply, and click "post reply".

    Control panel>system at the tab select advance.

    then at the start up and recovery, select settings.

    then it should say something about start up OS. pick the right one and remove the timer on there by unchecking the timer box.

    1. Load boot.ini into Notepad and save it as a backup eg as boot.ini.bak, in case you need to go back

    2. Delete the last 2 lines (the ones in red here)

    [boot loader]
    timeout=0
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (bootscreen)" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn /KERNEL=kernel1.exe

    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
    C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons

    3. Save as boot.ini

    4. Restart computer
