I was wondering if anyone can help. OK the problem is this whenever i burn something, i encode a movie and then when i burn it, at the end it says the process failed at 16x, now i put the cd in my computer and it plays the movie that i burned (the one that failed) perfect, but when i put it into the dvd player, it plays, but you cant see the picture because the picture is jumping and grey, but you can hear it fine, now i dont know if this helps, but i got the error log from nero...so if anyone can help me out cause i heard that this problem may be software issue and not a hardware...so help

Without checking your log in full I can see 2 things....
    1. You are using poor quality media...try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan)

    2. You are burning way too fast....slow to 4X

    JUst to add

You have far too much memory in use...DONT multitask while burning.

I agree with Gwendolin in the most part. Shut down any multi-tasking, background progams, etc. (no SETI at home, utorrent, limewire or similar, etc.). You might want to do a defrag also fairly frequently.

Gwendolin is recommending what is considered Grade A media, Verbatim, Sony or Taiyo Yuden. I don't blame her, quality media can compensate alot for other issues when burning.

Whatever brand you are using (Office Depot?, Ricoh, Ritek), is coding out to Ritek 16x manufacture, a Grade B quality media or lower quality media than she is recommending. I also use this media occasionally but would never burn it faster than HALF it's recommended speed on the label. ALSO, (this may be where Gwendolin is recommending no more than a 4X burn with your media(she's more experienced than I in this area);)) some burners/makes have a definite preference for certain media.

Personally, I have not tried Ritek 16x media yet, I'm giving Taiyo Yuden a try first.

OK, Well almost all of what you both said is true, so now i am going to shut everything off (No Programs running) and see if it works, if it dont then, by what you both said, it should be the media (cheap stuff, office depot, which you said i'm using and to tell you the truth i was running programs at the time, but i think i put the burning speed at 4x, but i'll try one more time) if something goes wrong i'll post a new log, if not then i'll reply to say thanks
