Help!

Hi guys....

i own a iphone 3gs and also an iphone 4! when i got my iphone4 i threw my 3gs in a box at home and basically forgot about it! untill now!

So i found out my 3gs. It has a passcode on which i have forgotten! ALSO i have a new pc that has never had the 3gs sync'ed to it!

whenever i plug it in it says

'itunes could not connect to the iphone ..........etc etc'

Is there a way of bypassing the code! i have watched various youtbe vids and read various forums, but all basically tell me to hold down the home button and the power button! but nothing happens!

So please help guys! any advice is greatly appriciated!

(and before anyone says its stolen etc etc...it isnt!)
