Hi virus problem I think .

    Hi I have the hewlitt packard wich some of you may know me. The virus has a location it is c:\windows\isrus\edmond.exe
    It said high allert. The scanner could not delete it.

    what anti- virus program are you using. do an online scan with www.antivirus.com free housecall to check for viruses & spyware

    I have norton antivirus the instructions are to reboot in safe mode and then scan again. Can you tell me how to reboot in safe mode on windows xp home edition.

    hold the crtl button after rebooting. a menu will come up with various options so select safe mode & enter

    Hey I ve tried so many times and the computer just boots up under regular mode. the other screen doesnt even come up. Do you know any other way to do it. tahnks.

    try the f8 button at the post screen & hold it down, do the same thing with the control button

    You need to repeatedly tap the F8 key during the Bootup sequence to get the menu with the Safe Mode Boot Option.

    thanks both of you, I went under safe mode and I scaned the computer and got the virus called EDMOND.
