    Thank you.
But before I do the scanning, remember I told you my computer would shut down by itself in the middle of the scanning. I could do nothing to stop that.
What should I do if it happens again?

You will be running in Safe Mode. None of the startup programs and most services will not be running. It should go through the scans OK.

    If Not let me know......

    2oldGeek,

I tried but it happened again. I have a hard time memorize the message, but some of it is :
    " System Shutdown
... works must be saved....initiated by NT Authority/System.... must restart .... DCMOM Server Process Launder Service terminated unexpectedly."

The last time I run scanning was on Safe Mode too. That message just pop up, and it shut down/restart my computer in 30 secs timing.
Do you know what caused this?

    louiskoo,

I am going to assume it’s caused by the corrupted System Files that you have.
Unless you can maybe borrow an XP disk from one of your friends and run SFC with it, there may not be much hope of completely clearing everything up..

Before we give up, let’s try one more thing.
First, if you have ComboFix on your computer you must uninstall it
Go to Start> Run> type ComboFix /u in the box and click OK then follow the instructions here:

    1. Download Combo fix from one of these locations.
    * IMPORTANT !!! Place combofix.exe on your Desktop

    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe

    2. Click start > run and Copy and Paste this in exactly, using the picture below for reference, then click OK.

    3. Combo will begin to run DO NOTHING while this is happening.
    • It will kill a few processes and disconnect you from the internet.
    • If by chance it stops prematurely you can re-establish your internet connection by restarting your computer.
    • This needs to be done so the program can work most efficiently for you.
Do not attempt to use the internet or anything else while it's doing its job for you.

**Understand that things like your system clock changing and your desktop disappearing might happen. Do not worry, because all will be restored later.

If when it's completed you can not get on the internet just reboot the computer

Post the log from comboFix for me located in
    c:\comboFix.txt

    louiskoo,

Yeah, it is very long…. You’ll notice that most of it is duplicates and triplicates of .dll files that should have been deleted by the system.. That’s called “Bit Rot” and what you should consider is re-formatting your drive and do a clean install of the operating system..

An antivirus and firewall are a pre-requisite for getting on the internet….

That’s about all I can do for you…… How is it running, now??

    Thank you so much, 2oldGeek!

I kinda know the idea about re-format & install new operating system, but I never done it before. Can you give me some tips or which website I can go to look for the information?

I perform a scan w/ Malwarebyte, and Trojans.Vundo, .BHO, .Agent are still there. Is it really that we can not do anything else to get rid of them? My only option now is install new operating system, right? In the mean time, can I use the internet as usual?

    Louiskoo,

Google this line -> how to reformat and reinstall windows xp

That should find enough info for you..

I wouldn’t put it on line if I had sensitive information in it, like bank acct., credit card nos., etc. Other that that you can’t hurt it much more than it already is. ; )

    2oldGeek,

I'm back to bother you again. :)
I tried to reformat & reinstall, but I couldn't do that "boot to CD". While I was looking for more info, I found out about Dell's System Recovery ( which erases everything and my comp. turn back to when I 1st bought it.) So I did that and now it seems like everything is okay.
Do you think I still need to reinstall my computer? Did I get rid of those problems? I hope you can help me.
    Thanks.

    louiskoo,

You did good… No need to re-install, the Recovery does it and is much easier.

If you will send me a fresh HJT Log so I can see just what is on there now, I’ll give you some Tips on how to protect it from Malware in the future…

I have McAfee now, but unable to update it, so I need to get another one. Which antivirus program do you use? Did you buy it?

    Many thanks to you,

    louiskoo,

I never buy software because there are so many excellent FREE programs available and some are much better than the paid versions….

    Get rid of McAfee…….
Download the McAfee Removal Tool and run it.
Click on the following link to download the MCPR removal tool

    http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

Click Save and save the file to your desktop
Close all McAfee Application windows you may have open, and double-click on MCPR.exe to start the removal tool.
After the removal tool finishes, you should be prompted to restart your computer.
Once the computer restarts, your McAfee product should be uninstalled.

Here is what I use and recommend:

    AntiVirus –
Avira Antivir – The Best 1st choice, Avast – Very Good 2nd choice, AVG – not recommended..

AVAST 4 Home Edition had the highest rate of zoo virus detection (92%), followed by AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic at 85% and AVG Free Edition at 81%. However, AVAST's higher zoo detection was offset by a correspondingly higher rate of false positives, 9 total compared to AntiVir at only 2. Conversely, AVG scored the lowest in both categories, racking up 11 false positives.

One drawback to Antivir is the Nag Screens.
Hate nag screens? Me too. I use Avira AntiVir on my computer and here's how to stop that annoying Avira Antivir PE Classic avnotify nag screen:

    http://www.elitekiller.com/files/disable_antivir_nag.htm

Of course, these particular antivirus scanners don't claim to have adware and spyware removal capabilities, so it would be unfair to judge them harshly if they do not.

    Adware and Spyware –
SpywareBlaster is passive protection. It plugs the holes that spyware and other potentially unwanted software use to get in to your system. As such, there is no running process - and no CPU and memory usage either. All you have to do is remember to update SpywareBlaster once a week, and enable the latest protection.
Note: I’m cheap and am not going to pay for updates. I’m also Old and tend to forget to update, so I set up a scheduled task to run SpywareBlaster once a week to remind me. : )

    Tutorial and Download:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial49.html

    Browser -
Use Firefox and install the latest Java – much safer than IE.

    Firewall –
Sunbelt-Kerio Personal Firewall is my top recommendation, as it seems to cause the fewest problems yet also manages reasonable protection.
The free and paid versions of Sunbelt Kerio are the same. If you don't buy the product, some advanced features are automatically turned off after 30 days. The product will also nag you every time you start it. For some, this is a small price to pay for a great free firewall. For others, it's a real turnoff. For those, I recommend ZoneAlarm [free]
For new users this is a more or less "set it and forget it" firewall. TIP: Turn off the Inbound Alerts! - there are so many that the prompts become bothersome. There is really nothing you can do about these probes and you can ignore these as long as your setup is Stealth. Test your Firewall configuration with ShieldsUp

    AntiMalware/ Trojans –
Comodo BOClean protects your computer against trojans, malware and other threats. It constantly scans your system in the background and intercepts any recognized trojan activity. The program can ask the user what to do, or run in unattended mode and automatically shutdown and remove any suspected trojan application. Comodo BOClean currently supports more than 68,000 malware items and offers automatic daily updates. Other features include updating via network share, tamper protection and stealth mode.
Antivirus software frequently fails to detect, and more often fails to effectively clean most malware. BOClean runs automatically in the background without interfering with your work and kills malwares INSTANTLY the moment they activate without giving them the chance to invade your machine. BOClean also eliminates the need to stop what you're doing to secure your machine after it's too late. BOClean works with all versions of Windows. Unlike antivirus programs, BOClean will actually shut them down and destroy them without the need for you to seek out the method of removal or risking dangerous editing of your system's innermost configurations. BOClean requires no technical skills and handles detection, removal and repair of your system automatically.

This should do an excellent job of protecting your computer.. If you have any questions, please feel free to smack me with them and I’ll do my best to answer..

I just started to remove McAfee and I am going through your list. I hope I wouldn't bother you again w/ this so that you'd have more time for yourself. :)
