I bought this laptop about 2 years ago (inspiron 5160)and just recently I wanted to burn some Cd's for Fedora (Linux) and i couldnt. I was helped by a dell Rep and redid my drivers and went through about 16 different steps and solutions to burning a cd (which it can read, just not burn) and than he told me to reinstall my system, which i did...but i still have the problem burning... i did everything from flash to diffrent programs... please help my drive is HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4243N
If you put a blank CD in the burner, drag and drop or copy and paste a file on to it, does XP refuse to burn it? The drive properties screen.
