hi all im fairly new to this burnin game and have a few little questions to ask you all.

the blank cd-r's i have are 48x what is the best speed to burn them at i heard if you burn them to fast they can skip etc.

my pc is on broadband so when i start it up its connected straight away.....ive got my firewall and antivirus running in the background is it ok to burn with it all on?

what would you say the best burning software is?

and last but not least lol what cd's are the most reliable?

    thanks a lot guys :)

I never burn past 24X for audio and 4X for PC games. I prefer accuracy over a minute saved.

It depends on your system and settings. You can try leaving them on or shut them down if you encounter resource problems while burning.

Nero 6 Ultra is a very reliable and comprehensive burning suite for audio, data and video for CD/DVD.

BlindWrite 5 is the best all around software for backing up protected PC games.

    Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus.

    Anytime :)
