My dad has a free hot mail account and he has it hooked up to outlook. From what I've heard its because hes had it hooked up since a certain date. Well is there anyway I get around this with out spending cash? Also what settings do I use to hook up my dads to a different pc? Thanks

you don't need any other software; you just need to read how to connect properly to the smtp and pop servers with a fresh outlook account.

Mozilla's Thunderbird is far better than Outlook. i would consider the conversion, if i were you.

I have both just trying to get one working. I'm talking a free hotmail account not a premium or whatever.

i think you're in the same boat as with the free yahoo accounts; they don't operate on an smtp/pop3 server system, so there's no using an email program to access them.

No dude you can use one of those programs, and it will either automatically froward your email to another account that you can use on outlook or goes through their servers and comes into outlook.

I have a gmail account I should just start using that, but I would have to switch all of my forums and friends over. I guess thats what I'll do.
