when you get error 21 do you see the white microsoft logo under the big X and XBOX when you first turn it on, if you do then pull the IDE cable then. with the xplorer360 just download it and put it in my documents. xplorer360 doesnt go in the xbox. o.k. i had error 16 and i couldnt see the white microsoft logo i pulled the IDE cable right when i seen the XBOX under the big X and it worked, so you should try that.

ok i think my harddrive is shot. i keep getting error 5.. probly because i forgot to plug my xbox hd back before i shut it down.. is there anything else i could do to save my xbox? i have a bigger HD for it but i dont know the stock xbox hd pw or anything.. should i just buy another xbox?

your hdd is unlock, you need eeprom. If you dont have it, then you need modchip.

Have had no luck with this xbox so i think i'm going to scrap it unless i can build a new drive and start from scratch
i have a 60 gig drive i can put in it if i can do that but from what i have read from other posts you need files from the original hdd ??

you can only build from scratch if you backed up eeprom. YOU NEED EEPROM. So if you think the eeprom.bin on the xbox's hdd, then try to get it out and put it on PC.

if you dont have eeprom.bin then you need modchip.

 

ok so ive got a question i softmodded my xbox (no chip in it) and then something went wrong and it only plays games from their cd but no dashboard i think i have it figured out how to fix this problem by wipping the hd and then hotswapping a new ms dash file over, i only have one problem which is that i cannot find the files for ms dash newhere i found a torrent for them on torrentspy but no one is seeding the alternative is to get and copy a freinds hd with the working ms dash over to mine but it would be easier if someone could either seed the file or provide a link where i could download it from thanx
