    Hi All,

The other week i helped one of our fellow aD users to fix their email account using Outlook Express... He couldnt connect or recive or send any emails... Anyway I thought I may as well write a guide on how to cure the problem...

    Steps 2 take
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    [bold]Option 1 (If this doesnt work, option 2 will...)[/bold]
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
1)First if u can't connect and recive your mail turn off your computer.

2)Disconnect the power cable from the back of the modem....

3)Leave it out for about 30 seconds to a minute

4)Plug it back in and turn on your computer... If u have a newer computer connected through USB it should turn on automatically.

5)Wait till you finish starting up and enter windows completly....

6)Go into Outlook Express... U should b able to recive emails now....

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    [bold]OTHERWISE IF STILL CAN'T RECIEVE TRY 2ND OPTION[/bold]
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    [bold]OPTION 2[/bold]
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

1)Go into Outlook Ecpress and either wait for the error to pop up or otherwise double click on the bottom right hand corner where it says connecting and press stop when the box pops up....

    2)Click on the [bold]"TOOLS[/bold] Menu

3)Go down the list to [bold]"Accounts"[/bold]

    4)Click on the [bold]"MAIL"[/bold] tab.

5)Right Click on your Mail account

    6)Go down to Properties

7)Click on the Server tab and Read your Incomming and Outgoing Mail Settings e.g. mail.isp.com.(your country code, e.g. .com.au)

8)Copy that information down or remember it if u can

    9)Close the properties box.

    10)Remove your mail account

11)Then create a new one by Click on [bold]"ADD"[/bold] and click on [bold]mail[/bold]

12)Type in your email account and password as pers usual e.g. myemail@myserver.com.au

13)Type in ur [bold]"Icomming & Outgoing"[/bold] mail server (The thing i mentioned to ether remember or wrtie down.....

14)The Setup Wizard Should b completed now.

    15)Click on finih

    16)Close and exit Outlook Express

    17)Restart Computer

18)Go into Outlook Express and you should b able to recieve and Send emails now once again....

    19)Your Done!!!

I hope that helps you Outlook Express users out there.... If you have any further trouble keep me posted....

    Good Luck... :D
