I have a soft modded box, and the game I want to backup, as in the original disc. How do I make the iso of it? I just want to put it in my burner and make one, is it possible? Most of the stuff I'm finding requires you to FTP first.

No, a PC DVD drive will not read an Xbox disc at all. The only drive that will is the Samsung SH-D162C (or a couple other models) flashed with Kreon firmware.

You best bet is to do it through FTP with a program like Qwix and a good FTP program. Other than having a special DVD drive in the PC, FTP is the only way you can make a back up. It takes about 30-45 minutes to transfer from the hard drive to PC, about 5 minutes for Qwix to build the ISO, and about 15-20 minutes to use a program like IMGburn to burn the ISO to a blank DVD.
