How can I play an .avi movie on a windows media player for windows xp?

    I downloaded an .avi movie out of kazaa and tried to play it on my windows media player for windows xp but when I press play i can see the timer count but there is no picture or sound, it's youst black. what can I do to see and to hear the movie?

    could be fake, you did mention kazaa after all! make sure you have the appropriate codecs, download gspot from the software section of thissite and that will tell you exactly what you need!

    Thank's dela, I did what you said and downloaded gspot and it sayd that I needed something called

    BI_RGB RAW BITMA

    The problem now is that I can't find where to get it from. Any ideas?
