    Hi,
I'm using Roxio VideoPack 5, and I'm trying to create a miniDVD (DVD video on and regular CD) from several AVI files. But the quality of the video is awfull!
Does anyone have any tips on how to create better quality DVD MPEG2 files from AVI?
    Cheers.

    Hi Dapunk,
Software encoders won't give you the perfect quality for converting the AVI to MPEG. You need to have a real time hardware encoders that can transcode AVI to MPEG. I advise you visit http://www.snazzi.com/newsite/pages/products/snazziAVDV.asp

I am also using the same product by snazzi.

Well, I personally think software encoders actually give better results to hardware ones (comparing similarly priced hardware/software encoders). Haven't tried the Snazzi hardware, but hardware encoders usually don't do VBR very well.

Try the CinemaCraft Encoder. It's fast, capable of multiple-pass VBR and the results are real dandy.
