How do I copy my DVD+R Home Movie to my Computer?

    I have a DVD+R Homemovie that i want to copy to my computer and then edit (shorten) so i can put it on "you tube" ... What free software can i download to do this? Any Help I would greatly appreciate.

    hi

    do you know if the dvd is VR format? you can tell by the files/folders on dvd

    and is it finalised?

    dvd shrink can chop/edit dvd not dvdVR

    Totally agree with Rotary. how did you make the DVD? it needs to be finalized. Once that is done, you can use a ripper to copy the entire movie to your hard drive, or, since there is no encryption,in Windows Explorer you can just drag-and-drop to your hard drive only the the VOBs that you want. Or drag the entire movie.
    After that, you use a free converter to convert to a format that youtube acepts. You can use AlltoAvi ,Any_Video_Converter, Super, Internet Video Converter, Avidemux ...plus a few more dozens. If you want to post the entire movie, you have to split the converted video to chunks not loner than 10 minutes.

    Well, i found a way to shorten the video, but now i want to put it on youtube, how can i change my DVD+R video,which is finalized, from VOB files to MPEG4, or something like that, ???
    May i add it is a homemovie of two moose fighting, and i do not want to say more and ruin the surprise, Thank You for any Help, Northgirl...If I can download it to youtube you can see for yourself.

    Okay, I am not a Rocket Scientist, but i am not afraid to do trial and error. I am trying to convert with ImTooDVD but it is not working to well. HELP, PLEASE,ugh...

    You can use Alltoavi to convet your dvd and post it on youtube
