the blu ray have already hit the selfs in Japan, and i've beeen informed that it may not make it over here (alas), the blue ray is called blue ray beacuse it uses a different laser wavelength which is much finer than what DVD laser wavelengths thus you have a higer density on the dics, but forget about blue ray technology, if you want the ultimate
movie watching experiance then get hod of DVHS thats right digital VHS its stores uncompressed digital video!!!! and uses the classic VHS tapes but these tapes have HUGE HUGE data storage and the resoultion is twice or quad i think of DVD so you cant watch it on normal TV's you'll need a HDTV, and you can even record at this high definition format (just think uncompressed digital video!) just search the internet for D-VHS and you will understand why i'm so excited about D-VHS, and by the way even a PC monitor can not display the picture (something about a direct digital monitor) which apparently stops you from copying it, plus the fact that you would be able to have a hard drive big enough to copy the movie
beacause its uncompressed video, anyway sorry for going on, but forget about DVD's, forget about recordable DVD's and foget about blue ray, jsut geta D-VHS, and HDTV!!

    DVHS ?????????????
shorty exvuse my french buddy, but i think the planet goes round one way ??
and as it goes round one way so does the technology,
vhs has had its time, there are a number of reason why people wont go back to vhs. or dvhs as you call it,
in my opinion blue ray will come out in the uk, a company like sony doesnt spend millions on development for nothing,
watch this spave, it will come,,,,,
its just probably the wrong time since...

DVHS is better quality than DVD, but not by much. It really is not worth spending the extra money for it. Also you can't have menus with DVHS!

You want to d/l slayers install disk then install Evolution x 3752, and the bios x2 4976 thats the latest that works with the latest games. once you install evox you can use the loader on it to backup original games to your HDD.
Once you have evo x installed you can backup your original HD using FLASHFXP to save a image of your xbox hd then swap it for a bigger drive and use slayers to partition and install it like a original drive.

I have a Moded Xbox with a Matrix chip an evolution X . I have backup up a game via FTP to my pc's Hard disk. I then use XISO to creat an iso image. I use easy cd 6 to burn that image onto a Memorex DVD-RW. I then try to load the DVD in Evolution X with no luck the game goes to load then sits there for 3 seconds an then reboots my xbox?? Is there some kind of crack im supposed to apply to the .XBE file in order for this to work properly. I have tried to find anyone who may have the know how but have come up sort handed in this area. I have also tried the media patches an ADR tool to patch the .xbe file but the programs tell me that it dose not need to be patched ??

Concerning the blu-ray D-VHS disscusion, Nobody's going to go to D-VHS, if anything it will be blu-ray, wich is u guessd it part of the UV light spectrum, making the pit's created by the laser about hlaf the size of a normal lasers pit, also i think the new standard, has pit's with in pits, ie' a long narrow track, with smaller narrow tracks inside. blu-ray will take off, just not soon, The film media industry has just poured millions in to getting DVD's out, there not about to change it. Any wau it's a cardinal rule among technology geeks, never ever buy the first generation of any technology, wait for the next one :) IMHO

no it's not hard, you just need a little knowledge and the right equipment. if you have an earlier xbox, the matrix chip is very reliable and easy to install.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying that the xbox will not read cd-r. I have no problems with it reading my music cd-r's that I recorded, or are you just talking about games copied on cd-r's?

i heard that xbox's don't read CD-R but my xbox does. I use the cheapest CD-R's and default iso burning options with NERO and all my backup games and VCDs boot flawlessly.

Xbox with Philips Drives will read DVD+R's but depends on how u write a disc, i done multidisc and it boots fine using Bulkpak Orange DVD-R, green and Datawrite x2 DVD+R's but burning a iso to one of these discs and it wont boot, its not a read problem thoe, on samsung drive xbox's the games will boot fine, except the +R which wont get seen on samsung dvd drive, but in philips drive these disc's wont boot, YET! if u put say 6 avi's or MPG's on any of these discs they really have probs on Samsung Drive Xboxes as in films stopping, not reading or playing etc. BUT! on philip's drive Xboxes these discs with avi's or MPG's on play Absolutly Brilliant, they play perfect, instant and no read errors or fils not playing. WORK THAT ONE OUT! leme know if ya do :) Like I say I made Multi Disc and booted fine on philips but burnt lots of different xbox iso's and wouldn't boot. I was thinking at first maybe if I added ISO9660 support to the XBOX ISO's that this might help but no go, I used Creation to make multi disc but had to convert it sing quix to get it working, I will try now to convert a iso that didnt work then burn it and see it it makes a difference, if it does then I will be looking for XBOX;s with Philips Drives not Samsung! ALso anyone know if Samsung's Firmware can be updated as this might sort the probs.
