ok,i have a Dell Dimension 8300 and i used up all the 80Gb, i know i could just buy a cheap HDD on ebay but i have this old 7.5 GB At Fireball Quantum HDD. does anyone know what steps it takes to connect or is it just plug and play? and would i mess with the jumper pins? thanks
Assuming its compatible and all with your pc, you would essentially just change its jumper pin to "Slave" and plug it in. Then once your logged into your OS format the harddrive.
7.5GB is not even worth the trouble of opening the case up to plug it in. That is not enough space to store anything. Even one retail movie would take up the entire hard drive. You would be better off spending some money and getting a larger hard drive. They have 160GB on Newegg.com for only $60
yeah thanks i just need a little extra space for the time being but im planning on buying a new hdd next week
