I came here through a Google search, but, after registering, I cannot again find that post.

I need to open a file on my hard drive. It used to be easy..."File"..."Open"...

I simply cannot discover how I might do this in the new IE 7.

    Can someone help me?

No one here knows how to do this???

My solution: download Firefox. I can now open a file from my hard drive. But surely, surely there is a way to do it in the new version of Internet Explorer.

    Help?

IE7 hides the menubar by default. On the statusbar, right next to one of the tabs, right-click and select "Menubar", it should appear and now you can select File>>Open.

Thank you SO MUCH. I just felt that surely I'm not the only one on the planet who opens files from the desktop (html pages, jpegs, etc.) in a browser window to view, test them!

This was so simple. Thanks again.
