take the output from the DVR to the input of the DVD recorder. then output of DVD recorder to the TV. depending on you DVD recorder tune it to ch. 3 or 4. or Input 1 input 2 ect.. also somethings can't be recorded to DVD cause of macrovision coding like HBO, A&E, ESPN, most pay channnels.

If you have access to a PC then VSO's DivXtoDVD will handle most DVR formats and convert it into DVD files allowing you to use burning software such as Nero (Tho I use DVDDecrypter...) to record it on a DVD...

I have a Directv Sat. DVR. I record on DVR. I go to my List per Remote. Highlight program, and copy to DVD! That simple to me.I hooked it up per Directv instructions. But also went from Sat. receiver "Through DVD recorder",like a switch,so to speak: In Line!Use you Component cables or S video ,whatever cables you use. Some TVs don't have enough inputs/outputs,retc. ,but usually easily on Satellite!
